Artist, or Hobbyist?

"Artists have some of the most interesting lives known to man."

    Said no one.

As an aspiring artist, (or author) you should know that the life you'll lead, is anything but glamorous. Hollywood stars and movie actors are most recently seen on TV or in movies because they are widespread things that people love to watch and critique.

On the other hand, artists, authors, and I'm sure many other jobs, live in obscurity and hardly anyone knows of them unless they are major art (or book) enthusiasts.

So, before you say to yourself, "I'm going to be a well-known artist who is loved by all!" Stop and remember the work that it takes to get there.

First, you probably won't have many friends if you do art for a living. Art takes a lot of time and you can't always go out to the movies with your friends if you need to support yourself by doing a painting that takes fifteen hours to complete!

The same goes for authors, you'll spend a lot of time writing and won't have much free time for yourself if you're serious about a career as an author.

So since I decided to post this little warning, I also decided to do a quiz below to help you see if you're cracked up to be a professional artist or author, or just doing it for fun.

I also want to remind you that you should first know what God is pulling you towards doing for his glory! God knows best and will help you get through the tough times, especially if leading the lonely life of an artist or author bothers you. You should also know that whatever it is that God has called you to, it will bring you joy, because you are doing God's will for your life!

God bless and share with a friend if you think they would like it!
